Walking from the hostel to the lecture theatre is basically a fashion show these days. The days of just throwing on anything for an 8 AM class are gone; the CMUL corridors have turned into a runway. This week, we are looking at the two dominant styles clashing on campus.

The Alté Crew You know them when you see them. Usually spotted around the student lounge or holding a camera. The vibe is baggy cargo pants, vintage tees, dreads or dyed hair, and the mandatory chunky accessories. It’s giving “non-conformist creative,” and honestly? We love the confidence.

The “Clean Girl” Aesthetic On the other end of the spectrum, we have the minimalists. Think sleek buns, matching two-piece sets, white sneakers that remain miraculously white despite the Lagos dust, and tote bags that scream “organized.” It’s the perfect look for the student who has their life (and study timetable) completely together.

The Verdict? Whether you are rocking crocheted hats or minimalist linen, the best accessory is confidence (and maybe a lab coat, because duty calls).
